UX/UI Designer Intern

We are seeking a talented UX/UI Designers to join our platform development team. In this role, you will work closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to design and refine the user interface and user experience of our platform. You will be responsible for creating user-centred `designs by understanding business requirements, the voice of the customer, user journeys, customer feedback, and usability findings.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals, and experience.
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
  • Conceptualise original ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex design roadblocks.
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
  • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders.
  • Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback.
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
  • Understand product specifications and user psychology.
  • Conduct concept and usability testing and gather feedback.
  • Develop wireframes and prototypes around customer needs.
  • Solve UX problems, such as usability or findability, using creative approach.
  • Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers.
  • Keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends.


Qualifications:

  • Proven UX/UI experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating design skills.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using Figma UX/UI design software and tools or equivalent.
  • Experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
  • A solid grasp of user-centred design and testing methodologies, subsystems, and usability and accessibility concerns.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a creative approach.
  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting, including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing software solutions.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
  • Certification in UX Design is a plus.
  • Experience with user research and conducting user testing.


Benefits

We run an ongoing internship programme within our Product Development team. Interns typically join us for 3 months (often with the possibility to extend the internship) on an unpaid basis.

All our internships are full-time and successful candidates following the first 3 months will be evaluated for a £700.00 per month salary upon successful confirmation as Junior Associates.
